About the Julia M. Davis Speech-Language-Hearing Center
The Julia M. Davis Speech-Language-Hearing Center offers a broad range of services for individuals with impairments or differences of speech, language, and hearing.
The services our clinic offers provide clinical education opportunities for graduate students. All services are provided by graduate students under the supervision of a nationally certified and licensed speech-language pathologist or audiologist, assisted by graduate student clinicians.
The Davis Center strives to:
- Provide service to the community and the University of Minnesota
- Advocate with individuals with speech, language, hearing, or cognitive communication disorders
- Provide clinical education opportunities for our graduate students
- Help individuals communicate effectively within their environment and develop greater independence.
Service Delivery options include
- In-person sessions in an historic UMN building with free parking
- Telehealth sessions using secure videoconferencing software
- Weekly sessions or multiple sessions each week
- Individual or group participation
We accept insurance or private payers. We offer sliding fee scale reductions to those without insurance coverage, and discounts to UMN students.
The clinic is named in honor of Dr. Julia M. Davis, professor emerita in the Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences and the former dean of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota.
