MA Candidate Receives Outstanding Student Presentation Award

Portrait of Matthew Trumper

Matthew Trumper, MA candidate in Geography, won an outstanding student presentation award for his talk last month at the 2022 AmeriDendro conference, an international professional meeting for scientists conducting tree-ring research in the Americas. The competition was high, with many outstanding early career scientists from dozens of countries, so this is a nice point of recognition. And a feather for Matt's cap. Well done!

Matt's presentation covered some of his thesis research on climate change and groundwater-dependent valley oak trees at California's famed Tejon Ranch. We will hear more from him this fall, when he defends his thesis.
