Mapping Prejudice Changing Mpls Policy

Mapping

Mapping Prejudice is a team of geographers, historians, digital humanists, and community activists working to expose structural racism in Minneapolis. They are building a map to show how racial restrictions are embedded in the physical landscape of the city. Their work has served as the basis of a bill to allow people to remove racially restrictive covenants from their properties.  The Mapping Prejudice Project recently received press in the Star Tribune and it is the subject of an upcoming Twin Cities Public Television documentary film Jim Crow of the North.  The documentary will premier on Minnesota Experience, February 25,2019.  An advance screening will take place here at the University of Minnesota.
