Absent by Design: Oromo Knowledge Making and Ethiopian State Archives

Please join the Immigration History Research Center to discuss a work-in-progress by Ayantu Tibeso, PhD. The manuscript will be circulated a week before the workshop to all who have RSVP’d. Please feel free to attend the event even if you do not have time to read the piece to be workshopped.

Ayantu Tibeso is an archivist and scholar whose work focuses on documenting and preserving Indigenous and marginalized community knowledges, with a focus on Oromo knowledge traditions in Ethiopia and its diaspora. She is an affiliated scholar at IHRC and project assistant of the African Studies Initiative in the Institute for Global Studies. She recently completed her PhD from the UCLA School of Education and Information Studies.
