Audiology Services

• Comprehensive hearing evaluations
• Follow up hearing tests for failed school hearing screenings
• Tinnitus evaluations
• Hearing conservation evaluations and education for individuals exposed to high-noise environments
• Dispensing and verification of hearing conservation products including earplugs, musician's earplugs, and earmuffs
• Patient centered care counseling is provided when discussing the results of any hearing or tinnitus evaluation

A client interested in obtaining hearing aids from our clinic will meet with an audiologist to select a product that meets their needs. We work with a number of manufacturers that offer hearing aids with a wide range of options and costs.

All hearing aids purchased in our clinic may be returned within 45 days if the client is not completely satisfied, in accordance with Minnesota state law.

Clients are provided with follow-up hearing aid appointments at no cost for the first year after receiving the hearing aid.

The Hearing aid services provided may include:

• Hearing aid evaluation and selection, which includes patient-centered care practices 
• Obtaining earmold impressions if necessary
• Performing appropriate questionnaires as needed  
• Fitting a wide range of hearing aid devices 
• Performing real-ear measurements for every hearing aid fitting
• Counseling on proper care and use of device, connecting to any bluetooth devices, and ensuring patient satisfaction
• Follow up hearing aid visits to address any patient needs

In addition to our hearing aid services, we work with clients to determine if other assistive devices may be beneficial. These may be devices for the telephone, alerting systems, and devices that amplify speakers in large groups or settings with excessive background noise

Our audiologists collaborate with many community clinical partners to provide a variety of clinical services.  

Phillips Neighborhood Clinic

Our audiologists and Doctor of Audiology students provide a variety of audiologic services monthly at the Phillips Neighborhood clinic in Minneapolis.  This clinic is a free, student run clinic.  The goal of the Phillips Neighborhood Clinic is to provide our patients the opportunity to receive free, quality health care regardless of their insurance situation, citizenship status, or financial background. 

University of Minnesota Cleft and Craniofacial Clinic 

Our audiologists are members of the University of Minnesota Cleft and Craniofacial Clinic. This clinic also provides our Doctor of Audiology students experience in interprofessional practice and team care. 

The UMN’s Cleft and Craniofacial Clinic is an approved American Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Association Team. This clinic specializes in evaluating and treating people with conditions affecting the head, face and dentition. They provide care for children and adults with cleft lip and palate, and many rare and complex craniofacial conditions. Our care optimizes the facial appearance, speech, craniofacial and dental development, and quality of life for individuals. Treatment includes expert surgical care, but truly takes a team, built on a trusting relationship that emphasizes the whole person from birth through adulthood.

Anoka Hennepin School District/Saint Paul Headstart 

Our audiologists along with graduate students in both audiology and speech language pathology help to support a variety of school districts with their annual hearing screenings.  Many of these hearing screenings are done with the preschool population, however we also perform hearing screenings for elementary and middle school aged students. 

Our audiologists along with Doctor of Audiology students will also travel around our community to provide hearing conservation testing and monitoring, following OSHA requirements, to those sites and employees who are exposed to chronic noise from occupational environments.
