Bio: Larry Silver is the Farquhar Professor of Art History, emeritus, at the University of Pennsylvania.  A specialist in painting and graphics of early modern Northern Europe, he taught previously at Berkeley and Northwestern.  His published monographs include studies of Bosch, Bruegel, Dürer, Rubens, and Rembrandt, and Jewish art as well as a study related to his talk, Marketing Maximilian (2008).  He previously lectured at the Center in tandem with an art exhibition from Vienna held at the MIA in 2015.
