William Cornejo is a Ph.D. student specializing in Hispanic Linguistics at the University of Minnesota. Additionally, he is pursuing a graduate minor in Educational Psychology with an emphasis on quantitative research statistical methods.  His research centers on sociolinguistic phenomena, including sociophonetic variation, intergenerational language shift, family language policy, and linguistic attitudes. He is currently analyzing the variation of Salvadoran Spanish in the United States using social network analysis and quantitative and qualitative methods. Also, William is interested in the second language acquisition of Spanish phonology and bilingualism.

He has extensive experience teaching English and Spanish as foreign languages, interpreting and translating between Spanish and English, coordinating projects, and developing English as a foreign language teaching programs in his home country. William holds a Master's degree in Hispanic Linguistics, an undergraduate degree in English Language and Teaching from the University of El Salvador, and a certificate in financial management.
