Isabel Herb, Au.D. is a clinical audiologist and Ph.D. student in the Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences at the University of Minnesota, mentored by Dr. Melissa Polonenko. Before beginning her PhD, she received her undergraduate degrees in SLHS and Sociology from Miami University and her Doctorate in Audiology from Northwestern University. She completed her clinical externship at the Stanford Ear Institute at Stanford University.
After completing her doctorate, she aims to establish a research program that bridges clinical audiology and auditory neuroscience, focusing on how the human brain encodes and processes sound from the brainstem to the cortex. Her primary interests include auditory development, electrophysiology, and the neural mechanisms that support hearing and communication across the lifespan.
