Qiuxia is a native of Chengdu, China, and has been an active member of the Minnesota Chinese community for more than 20 years. She started working with the CAAM (Chinese American Association of Minnesota) Chinese Dance Theater while pursuing her bachelor’s degree at Augsburg University.  After receiving her master’s degree from the University of Minnesota, Qiuxia helped to start a Chinese language program with the Eden Prairie Public School district. A strong believer in building cultural bridges between China and Minnesota, she took the position of executive director with the Minnesota-based non-profit organization, Red Thread Charities, which helped build therapy training programs in Chinese orphanages.

Qiuxia’s work at the University of Minnesota started at the China Center’s Mingda Institute for Leadership Training where she worked with the University faculty and staff to create training programs for Chinese educators, faculty, government officials, business leaders, and college students. She has over 10 years of experience in consumer product marketing, art direction, product development and event planning. Qiuxia is excited to bring her years of experience in marketing, communication, and education to the University of Minnesota Department of Theatre Arts & Dance.
