Collegiate Affiliation

Laura is a PhD candidate in sociology studying race, religion, parenting practices, and the transmission of privilege. Her doctoral dissertation is a qualitative study examining suburban parents' values related to neighborhood and school selection. She was a member of the Exploring the Pandemic Impact on Congregations (EPIC) research team with the Hartford Institute for Religion Research, and her scholarly work has been published in Sociology of Religion. She is an Associate Professor of Christian Ministries at Bethel University in St. Paul, MN, and she serves as a teaching pastor at a local church in the Twin Cities.
