Sebastián Molina Noreña is a Spanish and Portuguese doctoral student and graduate instructor at University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. He holds a B.A. in Literature & Language with a concentration in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina Asheville and an M.A. in Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. His interest in transnational narratives has informed both his creative output as an undergraduate student and his current research. Previously, he has written about authorial reflexivity in filmic adaptations of Don Quixote, both of which (adaptation and reflexivity) continue to be areas of research. Currently, he is investigating transnational identities, immigrant memory, and the notion of the diffused self within unbound liminal spaces. Within these contexts, he seeks to explore the questions “what does it mean to leave?” and “what does it mean to come back?” and the notion of a persisting “ghost self”.
