Omotola Okunlola is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies. She earned a PhD in African Cultural Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research and teaching interests straddle African and Black feminisms, African literature, and popular culture and media studies. Her current research explores emerging feminist subjectivities in contemporary African literature and cinema through a focused attention on the interconnection and interaction between gender and popular fiction and film.
