Biography: Onteya Zachary, grounded by her upbringing in the angel city of Chicago, is a PhD student that is a witness to the change dynamics that shape opportunity and empowerment within societies. Her current research focuses on: theories of justice, economic theory, Black geography, critical urban geography, social movements, critical geographies of education, and the politics of debt. Onteya is also interested in interdisciplinary collaboration with other individuals, groups, and organizations that seek to bring social justice to the forefront.
