My interests in GIS center around visualizing winter annual crop survival across the US using a multi-year, multi-location dataset. I would also like to use this data to predict where winter annuals crops could survive given certain climatic conditions and geographic locations. Additionally, I work in the Smith Lab within the Department of Agronomy and Plant Genetics where I manage the field and greenhouse work for domesticating a potential perennial oilseed known commonly as silflower (Silphium integrifolium). I'm also pursuing a PhD degree in Applied Plant Sciences in CFANS where I'm planning on using the skills learned in the MGIS program to further my aptitude in processing and analyzing this data.
