Teaching Specialist: Music Therapy
Edward Todd Schwartzberg received his BA in Music Education; emphasis in Music Therapy from the University of Kansas and completed his Masters in Education; emphasis in Music Therapy from the University of Minnesota. Professor Schwartzberg has worked with people with end-stage dementia in long term-care units and with children who have a variety of special needs. He has created numerous job opportunities for music therapists, such as schools, hospitals, day training/habilitation centers and the Ronald McDonald House of the Twin Cities. Professor Schwartzberg’s area of specialization is with children and adults with autism spectrum disorders and other pervasive developmental disabilities. He provides private and group music therapy for children with autism, and other neurological, mental and physical disabilities. He serves as the Government Relations Coordinator for the Music Therapy Association of Minnesota and on the Board of Directors of the Autism Society of Minnesota and Lionsgate Academy.
