Robert has expertise in software development and supports both Research and Administrative functions across CLA. He is a CLA alumnus with degrees in History and Philosophy with concentrations on the History of Artificial Intelligence and Philosophy of Mind. He began his professional career with the  Historical Census Project (the precursor to the Minnesota Population Center) working on the IPUMS and then later NHGIS projects. The next leg of his professional journey led him to a position as a developer at the Office of Information Technology supporting research grant management software for the Office of the Vice President for Research. Robert began working for CLA-OIT, now LATIS, in his current role, in 2011.

Robert’s skill set is continually evolving to meet the needs of the people he has had the pleasure of working with at the University of Minnesota these past 20+ years. He believes firmly in the mission of the University and CLA. He considers it an honor to support that mission working with the good folks at LATIS.
