Lauren Toensing and Fina Mooney Receive Puffer Scholarships for Study Abroad

The Department of Art History is pleased to announce that Lauren Toensing and Fina Mooney are the 2023-24 recipients of the Patricia and Kenneth Puffer Scholarship for Study Abroad. The Puffer scholarship provides funds to undergraduate Art History majors of high academic standing, in order to encourage and support their intellectual, cultural, and personal growth through foreign travel. 

A rising senior at UMN, Art History major Lauren Toensing has been awarded a $2500 scholarship to study in Paris, France, as part of the Spring 2024 course Impressionism: 1874 to Today with Art History Professor Laura Kalba. Lauren’s interest in art is focused in Europe. She is looking forward to developing both personally and academically during her travels.

Finishing her third-year at UMN, Art History major Fina Mooney has been awarded a $2500 scholarship to study in Japan. She has taken art history coursework focused on Asia and is looking forward to visiting Kyoto and Tokyo with the guidance of Art Professor Tetsuya Yamada.
