The Department of Art History is pleased to announce that doctoral candidate Angelica J. Maier will begin a twelve month appointment as the Lisa and Jerry O’Brien Curatorial Fellow at the Weisman Art Museum in September 2022. The O’Brien fellowship offers those interested in the museum field hands-on experience as a member of the curatorial department. Maier is strongly interested in museums as repositories of cultural objects and producers of public scholarship, as sites of community and, particularly with respect to university museums, arenas for the production and exchange of knowledge. She is especially excited to participate in the research and planning for a reinstallation of the Weisman’s American art collection, a project supported by a “Re-envisioning Permanent Collections: An Initiative for US Museums” grant from the Terra Foundation for American Art.
