2022 MEARS FELLOWSHIPS IN GERMAN & EUROPEAN STUDIES

The Center for German & European Studies announces a new round of 2022 Mears Fellowships.

Advanced Ph.D. students in the College of Liberal Arts who are working in the field of European Studies can apply for a $5,000 stipend for summer 2022 to further their dissertation research and/or writing.  Applicants must be in the dissertation phase or in the immediate pre-dissertation phase of their studies, i.e. post-prelims when the award starts.  For more information and applications instructions, see the Hella Mears Fellowship web page.  The application deadline is March 15, 2022.

Departments in the College of Liberal Arts can nominate outstanding incoming Ph.D. students who are interested in pursuing research in German & European Studies for a Mears Recruitment Fellowship. The fellowship provides an augmentation of recruitment packages of $5,000 for the first year of graduate study.  The Mears Recruitment Fellowship may be used as a stipend augmentation during the academic year or to provide summer research support for the summer between the first and second year of graduate study.
