Welcome to the new MCPS postdoc!
Jasmin Özel is currently completing her PhD in Philosophy at Paderborn University (Germany). She received her graduate education at the University of Pittsburgh, and she was previously a postdoctoral fellow in Mathematics at the University of Siegen and a Fellow in Philosophy at Harvard University. She works primarily on issues in philosophy of mind and cognitive science (especially on the nature of beliefs and adjacent attitudes). She also writes on topics in the history and philosophy of logic and mathematics, with a focus on Christine Ladd-Franklin. At MCPS, her research project will be concerned with an application of the new mechanism approach to natural kinds in the context of psychology.
