Peer Leaders
Each participant in the Second-Year Success Series will be paired with a peer leader. Your peer leader will help you transition into the second year, help you design a plan unique to your goals, and host small group meetings with other second-year students. Meet the peer leaders for 2014-15!
Emily Zwirlein
Hey! My name is Emily Zwirlein and I am a junior majoring in psychology, minoring in Spanish, and pursuing a certificate in addiction studies. I'm originally from Nashotah, Wisconsin, a super-small town between Milwaukee and Madison. I've been involved in lots of activities and groups since I've been here including Admissions Ambassadors, Welcome Week, and Student Unions & Activities. In my free time I enjoy hanging with friends, playing intramural sports, watching Gopher games, and obsessively watching season after season of shows on Netflix.
Meghan Schmidt
My name is Meghan Schmidt. I'm a junior here at the University of Minnesota. I am studying biology, society, and the environment with the end goal of teaching life science to high school students. I am in the DirecTrack to Teaching program here so I've got my foot in the metaphorical education door. I am particularly interested in genetics, which is probably my favorite part about biology. In my free time I like to listen to podcasts (particularly comedy ones). Additionally, I really enjoy live music so I like to go to a lot of different concerts.
