Vanessa is a Nigerian-American Counseling Psychology student born and raised in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. She earned her BA in Psychology from Columbia University and spent two years working as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the University of Pennsylvania before coming to the University of Minnesota. She is broadly interested in 1) Black mental health with a focus on Black women and other Black people with intersecting marginalized identities and 2) the mental health impacts of the Minneapolis Unrest.
