Sarah Bahr is a freelance Costume and Scenic Designer for theater, dance, and opera. Her passion for working in theater is rooted  in the collaborative nature of working as a team to create artwork together. This passion is reflected in her teaching style that emphasizes creating an active learning environment and encouraging students to explore their personal creative process and artistic voice. She is an advocate for equity in the theater industry and strives to create spaces and meaningful mentorship opportunities for emerging theater makers.

Based in the Twin Cities, Sarah has worked with local companies including the Minnesota Opera, Jungle Theater, Trademark Theater, Theater Latte Da, Theater Mu, Ten Thousand Things, History Theater, Ragamala Dance Company, Minneapolis Children's Theater, and Guthrie Theater. Regionally she has designed with the Vail Dance Festival, Opera San Antonio, Cincinnati Opera, and San Diego Opera.
