Daniel Cueto-Villalobos is a cultural sociologist and doctoral candidate at the University of Minnesota. Broadly, his interests are in the areas of religion, race, and social change. Daniel is involved in a number of mixed-methods collaborative projects examining the social impacts of COVID-19, policing, immigration, and the church/state divide in public life. Daniel's research has received support from the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion, the American Sociological Association, UMN Graduate School, and the Lilly Endowment. His scholarly work has been published in leading journals including Social Problems, Sociology of Religion, and the Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, and he has contributed commentary on Minnesota Public Radio, The Conversation, and The Society Pages.
