Shania Kuo is a PhD student in the Department of Sociology at the University of Minnesota with research interests in Asian American communities, families, aging, culture, caregiving, and identity. She is interested in how Asian American immigrant families provide care for elderly family members and how this affects the emotional, social, financial, and health of family members, with particular interest in how caregivers live after they finish with their caregiving duties. Other projects she has worked on focuses on exploring Asian American identity, including during moments of global crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic or exploring racial authenticity in the workplace.

Please reach out with any questions or if you would like to discuss her research with her. You can find more of her writing at The Society Pages, where she is a regular contributor.
