Shania Kuo is a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of Minnesota with research interests in Asian American communities, families, aging, culture, caregiving, and identity. Her dissertation examines the experiences of Asian American caregivers and their children in providing care for elderly family members in the Twin Cities and its broader metro areas and the impact of healthcare bureaucracies on caregivers' experiences.
She is currently the Project Manager for the American Mosaic Project (AMP), examining attitudes towards immigrants and the perspectives of Asian Americans. Other projects she has worked on focuses on exploring Asian American identity, including during moments of global crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic or exploring racial solidarity in the workplace.
