Patricia Mougel

Dr. Mougel received her Ph.D. in Second Languages and Cultures Education from the University of Minnesota after completing an M.A. in Language Education from Indiana University. She served as Director of French Language Instruction in the French and Italian Department at the University of Minnesota for 17 years after coordinating the beginning French program for a few years.  She was named the 2021-2022 French Teacher of the Year by the Minnesota Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF).

Her areas of expertise include second language acquisition, French for Specific Purposes and contemporary French society. With more than thirty years of instructional experience, she has taught at all levels of instruction from beginning to graduate.
