Diane teaches skills-based courses in the department, including 3422 Interviewing and Communication, and 1101 Introduction to Public Speaking. She also serves as the faculty coordinator for the University’s College-in-the-Schools program, which partners with area high schools to provide increased access to college teaching and learning. Diane creates a relaxed environment in her classroom, which allows students to practice the skills they are learning in a supportive setting. She also uses her 10 years of competitive and professional speaking to share real-life examples and experiences with her students.
Diane received her M.A. degree in Communication Studies from the University of Minnesota in 2004 and her bachelor's degree, also in Communication Studies, from Concordia College in Moorhead. Diane has a special interest in environmental and non-profit communications work, and she volunteers with a number of local non-profit organizations.
