Paul Soper

Paul Soper is a Senior Lecturer and serves as Internship Director for the Department of Political Science.

After receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, he taught at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, and the Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania, before returning in 2001 to the University of Minnesota to serve as Internship Director. Through the Internship Program he has supervised over 1,500 students doing a wide variety of internships in the Twin Cities metro area, in Washington, D.C., and even internationally. For his work he received in 2005 a CLA Outstanding Service Award.

He also teaches courses on American political thought and Political Engagement Careers, and has previously taught courses on American Politics and American state governments.
