The foundation that drives my communications strategy is to ensure that people of all populations and backgrounds feel welcome, have an opportunity to tell their stories, and have access important resources. I have a passion for assisting students and understand the complexities involved in a career journey, given my own path full of twists and turns. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a major in journalism and a minor in sociology. I entered college with plans to write sports for a newspaper, but fell in love with the communications field during my studies.

I began my career at the University of Minnesota athletic department before moving on to roles in the nonprofit sector at Loaves & Fishes MN and the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association. It has been a rewarding journey that has included working at both the men’s and women’s basketball Final Four, football bowl trips, and the women’s college softball World Series, as well as helping to provide over 4 million meals to Minnesotans in need. Additionally, I helped launch an award-winning DEI partnership that offered underserved youth with opportunities to work in a veterinary clinic.

Outside of work, you can usually find me watching sports, grilling, snuggling with my pets, or taking an adventure with my wife, Nikki.
