Dax Schwartz

Dax worked a variety of office and other jobs before joining the Department of Political Science in 2021. In their spare time they are a fiction writer and have published two novels and a few dozen short stories so far. Their storytelling focuses on things like gender, myth, found family, neurodivergence, folklore, and liminal happenings--they are most excited about stories that embrace the inexplicable and difficult-to-categorize. Le Guin, Kerry Greenwood, Karen Joy Fowler, Kelly Link, Samuel R. Delany, Kurt Vonnegut, Julia Serano; they enjoy the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the films of Guillermo Del Toro, and Miss Marple. Their other interests include permaculture, carpentry, and fashion. They live in MInneapolis with their partner, a Chihuahua, a Yellow Lab, and a sable cat named Miss Dolly Purrton.
