Eric Seligman is a researcher and teacher in the political economy of punishment. He is currently working toward a Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and organizing for prison labor reforms in Minnesota. Previously, he taught economics at the City University of New York's John Jay College and School of Labor and Urban Studies, and he coordinated CUNY's college-in-prison program, the Prison-to-College Pipeline. Eric has published in Theoretical Criminology and written for outlets such as Prison Policy Initiative, and he is currently working with Geert Dhondt on a study of prison labor in the U.S. throughout the development of mass incarceration. He holds an Ed.M. from Harvard University and a M.A. in Economics from John Jay College.
