The Gabriel P. Weisberg Curatorial award is designed to offer financial support for a graduate (or undergraduate) student in art history to pursue a curatorial internship at a local museum.

The annual award in the amount of $4,000 is made in conjunction with an internship offered to an art history student by a local museum (the Weisman Art Museum, the Goldstein Museum of Design, the Walker Art Center, the Minneapolis Institute of Art, the Minnesota Museum of American Art).

A faculty committee will review applications with an eye toward matching applicants and specific internship openings at one of these institutions. The committee will then work with the sponsoring institution to select the final recipient.

Graduate recipients may use the award to complete an internship in Summer 2022.

Please see the updated application guidelines. The application deadline has been extended to November 15. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Laura Kalba (kalba009@umn.edu)  or Sara Enfield (senfield@umn.edu).
