To apply for the Hella Mears Research Fellowship, please submit the following documents:
- Application form (opens a google form).
- Project proposal, including research project title (up to 2 pages, single-spaced, 12-point font; also include information on the current status of the project)
- Current CV
- Graduate transcript
- A confidential letter of recommendation from the advisor (recommenders may submit letters electronically)
Application deadline March 7, 2025. All applications will be reviewed by a committee of CGES-affiliated faculty from across the disciplines. Award decisions will be announced by April 11, 2025.
Eligibility Requirements
- Full-time graduate students in the College of Liberal Arts whose work focuses on or intersects with German and European studies seeking a PhD
- Good academic standing (no incompletes)
- Willingness to share research results with an appropriate audience
- Applicants who have not been awarded a Hella Mears Summer Fellowship will receive competitive preference.
