American Indian Studies with the Institute for Advanced Study present "E Hana i Kanaka (Let's Make Humanity): Hawaiian Syncretisms of the Biblical Creation" with Dr. Michael David Kaulana Ing. This presentation will explore the syncretic projects of Biblical Christian and Native Hawaiian Creation stories to show how Kanaka (Native Hawaiians) used Christianity as but another foreign tool that could galvanize Kanaka political consciousness in the face of colonialism.
