Language Pedagogy

The Language Center offers for-credit courses to support graduate students’ professional development as teacher-scholars. These courses have the subject LGTT, which stands for Language Teaching and Technology.

Advanced Teaching Methods

LGTT 8999 / FRIT 8999 / GSD 8103

The Language Center offers Advanced Teaching Methods: Integrating Language & Disciplinary Content (LGTT 8999) on a biannual basis during the academic year.

Students in this course will learn to:

  • Effectively teach upper-level language courses in the area of specialization
  • Integrate language development with the study of disciplinary content
  • Create materials that to serve on the job market and throughout an academic career

Summer Courses

The Language Center offers LGTT courses as part of the CARLA Summer Institute program.  

Past courses include:

  • Using Technology in Second Language Teaching (LGTT 5110)
  • Using the Web for Communicative Language Learning (LGTT 5111)
