Culture and Language Integration in Chinese and English (CLIC), a joint program run by the Language Center and the Department of Asian & Middle Eastern Studies (AMES), will continue to online conduct Chinese and English conversation sessions in summer 2021.

This program is primarily intended for American high school students who received 6-8 years of immersion Chinese education and international students from China. However, students from anywhere in the county who are native speakers of English or Chinese, and are learning the other language, are invited to participate.

At each conversation session, Zhen Zou, the coordinator and instructor will try to match native speakers of Chinese and English for students to practice their target language with native speakers of that language. Students will have 45 minutes practice speaking Chinese, and 45 minutes speaking English, with discussion questions on a given theme. Students who participate in ten or more sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion awarded from the two sponsoring departments.

If you or your high school children are interested in participating, please contact Zhen Zou, the coordinator and instructor, at zouxx009@umn.edu.
