New OCM Site on Conferencing Technology
If you’re planning to teach a mix of in person and remote students next semester, or need a classroom with conferencing technology as a backup plan, check out the new Conferencing Site from the Office of Classroom Management (OCM).
- Compare the four camera types in OCM classrooms
- Compare the two microphone types available for conferencing (information is also provided about voice amplification microphones which are not used for conferencing)
- See instructions for connecting your computer for conferencing (use the in-room camera and microphone)
- See instructions for using the video conferencing codec equipment (Folwell 118, Peik 165, Humphrey 20 & 25 ONLY)
To see what technology is available in classrooms, use the Room Search feature.
If you’d like help deciding which type of technology or room will best meet your needs, email classrm@umn.edu. To offer feedback on the new conferencing site, contact Noah Holm, OCM Technologist at noahholm@umn.edu.
