Alumna Maria Mannone Gives Talk on Her Research at Workshop in Berlin

Maria Mannone (PhD 2017, composition, student of Alex Lubet) gave a talk titled “Gesture, Music, and Categories: The Abstraction of Math meets the Variety of Expression” during the Linguistic Investigations Beyond Language: Gestures, Body Movement and Primate Linguistics Workshop held at the Leibniz-Zentrum Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft in Berlin, Germany (March 11-12, 2019). Her presentation involved some recent applications of her music-mathematical approach to dance, and to categorically modeling topics of recent literature on dance and non-verbal linguistics.
