Korey Konkol

Korey Konkol (viola) was invited to judge both the preliminary and final rounds of the eighth annual SPCO Youth Chamber Music Competition. A record number of young chamber music groups were entered in three categories: Junior, Senior, and Creative. The Finalist Recital took place in Sundin Hall at Hamline University on February 23, 2019, and was emceed by affiliate faculty member Charles Ullery (bassoon). The competition is coordinated by the Friends of the SPCO, a volunteer organization that supports the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra through educational, social, and fundraising activities. Their goal for this competition is to encourage regional student musicians to form chamber ensembles, to expand their knowledge of the wonderful world of chamber music, and to achieve a high level of proficiency. More information about the competition and a complete list of winners can be found here.
