Student Kathryn Huether Accepted to International Program and Workshop: Jewish Music – Practice as Research

Kathryn Huether (PhD, musicology, advisee of Karen Painter) was accepted to an all-expense paid International Program and Workshop: Jewish Music – Practice as Research, at the European Center for Jewish Music in Hildesheim, Germany. The workshop is a ten-day intensive seminar from April 4-12 and will provide students the opportunity to research, engage with, and explore Jewish music in many of its diverse forms and manifestations. Examples to be included are Salome Rossi, Yiddish and Klezmer, Schoenberg’s “Jewishness,” and more. The workshop seminar consists of 10 students from around the globe.
