Hometown: Saint Paul, MN

Major: Sociology of Law, Criminology, and Justice

Minor: Psychology

Activities you are involved in: Transfer student activities, Judicial Internship with the Honorable Judge Christian Sande

What is your favorite college memory?

I've loved attending sporting events! These events give me pride to be a Gopher and have helped me build rapport with other students.

Did you participate in any student organizations, Learning Abroad programs, research or internship opportunities, or other related experiences? How have you learned from them?

I received an internship scholarship through the College of Liberal Arts this spring 2023 semester. I learned so much from this opportunity, and the scholarship made my education and the internship accessible for me. It also has been an integral part of my career exploration and has helped me narrow down what profession I would like to go into after graduation.

How would you describe your time in your major?

I have LOVED being a sociology major at the U! The department is beyond supportive and helpful, and the courses I've taken have been thought-provoking, insightful, and well worth my time.

If you could go back and give your first-year self one piece of advice, what would it be?

Go to the U, not a small liberal arts college! I transferred my senior year and wish I had transferred sooner, or attended the U in the first place, because its size offers significantly more resources and support that I did not receive at my original institution.

What's next for you? What are your post-graduation plans?

I hope to farm sustainably in Tuscany, Italy for a few months next fall and then begin applying to law schools shortly after.
