On Purpose: Portrait of CLAgency

To commemorate our 150th anniversary in 2018, the College of Liberal Arts commissioned 60 photographs taken by Xavier Tavera. Departments and programs partnered with Tavera to envision their images and to write the narratives that accompany each photograph. View On Purpose: Portrait of the Liberal Arts.

CLAgency changes lives. There’s really no better way to put it.

Students learn, among other things, critical soft skills such as communication, time management, and collaboration, which are important building blocks for any successful career. But more importantly, CLAgency offers students longer-term benefits in the form of professional experience, contacts, and the added confidence that comes from working in teams to successfully solve problems.

CLAgency is exactly the sort of opportunity only a world-class university in a major metropolitan area can offer its students.

It’s a breeding ground for confident, fearless leaders who get snapped up by employers hungry for well-rounded graduates with real-world experience. It’s been a privilege to be a part of these students’ journeys through CLA.
