Grad Student Sara Gardner receives Center for German & European Studies Travel Grant Award

PhD candidate Sara Gardner will be traveling to Leeds this summer to present a paper on a medieval magical-medical manuscript from the Jewish community of Catalunya at the International Medieval Congress 2024. Each year, the IMC welcomes papers on all aspects of Medieval Studies, alongside a special thematic focus. In 2024, this special thematic focus will be ‘Crisis’. More info.

She will also be participating in the Seminario ALCES 2024 in Santiago de Compostela in July, where she'll be workshopping a chapter of her dissertation as part of a seminar on the intersections of food and Iberian studies. The award provides travel support to University of Minnesota Twin Cities graduate students in European studies.  The travel grants are intended for travel to scholarly conferences. Graduate students in good standing can apply for up to $2,500 for travel to an international conference.
