The PhD program in Hispanic & Lusophone Literatures, Cultures, & Linguistics welcomes the incoming class of 2023!
Yomary's research interests span early modern/modern history, baroque, colonial and postcolonial studies, cultural exchange, Latin American and Caribbean Studies. With a Masters in History and Cultural Heritage from Université Lumière Lyon 2 in France, she is moving to Minnesota from her home city of Bogotá, Colombia. She enjoys writing short stories, poetry, and exploring vegan-vegetarian gastronomy. Welcome Yomary!
We welcome Laura back home to the Twin Cities! Laura completed a BA in Spanish & Economics from the Madrid campus of St. Louis University and a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in Asunción, Paraguay. Her research interests include Latin American testimonios. She enjoys baking and playing tennis.
Some may already know Kaylee - she taught SPAN 1022 last fall! She has an MA in Spanish from Loyola University Chicago and her research interests include Latin American literature, culture, cinema and dance. An avid runner and cyclist, she enjoys visiting art museums, attending live theater productions and stand-up comedy shows. Welcome (back) Kaylee!
