Alumnus Lingzhou Xue Elected Fellow of the ASA

Congratulations to School of Statistics alumnus Lingzhou Xue (PhD, ‘12), who has been elected a Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA), for “outstanding contributions to statistical methodology and theory in high-dimensional statistics, statistical learning, and nonparametric statistics; for advancing cross-disciplinary research; and for exemplary leadership and professional services." Xue was one of 47 new members selected by the ASA Committee on Fellows and was formally inducted at the 2023 annual Joint Statistical Meetings in Ontario, Canada.

Xue earned his PhD in 2012 from the School of Statistics studying under his advisor, Hui Zou. He currently serves as a professor of statistics at The Pennsylvania State University.
