Portrait of Ronald Christensen

Ronald R. Christensen (PhD, 1983) is being promoted to distinguished professor at the University of New Mexico (UMN) this fall. He has been a member of UNM's Department of Mathematics & Statistics since 1988, and is also a Fellow of the American Statistical Association (1996) and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (1998).

A letter from the UNM Provost has recognized Dr. Christensen’s promotion with the following commentary:

[Dr. Christensen is] one of several new Distinguished Professors, selected from an incredibly strong pool of nominations, and [he joins] current Distinguished Professors as the holders of UNM’s highest faculty title. [His] contributions to the world through outstanding scholarship, through shaping the ideas of human discourse, through service to [his] profession, the human community, and our university, as well as developing the talents of others, are truly inspiring. On behalf of the entire University community, let me thank [him] for [his] dedication and contributions.

Congratulations, Dr. Christensen!
