This fall, researchers at Stanford University’s Meta-Research Innovation Center published updates to a study ranking the world’s top 2 percent most cited scientists across all fields. Appearing on this exclusive list are School of Statistics Professors Charles Geyer, Xiaotong Shen, Yuhong Yang, and Hui Zou, as well as Professors Emeriti Dennis Cook, Seymour Geisser, and Douglas Hawkins.

The annually published study from Stanford University measures scientific impact by analyzing bibliometric data from Scopus author profiles. Analysis is based on standardized information on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator (c-score). The most recent calculations are based on data published through September 1, 2022. Two resulting lists are created: career-long and single, recent year impacts. School of Statistics faculty are included on both lists.

Researchers on these lists produce impactful peer reviewed literature, placing them within the top 2 percent of most cited researchers across the globe. Thanks in part to the work of these distinctive scientists, the School of Statistics continues to be a leading center of innovation and research.
