Dr. Tianxi Li is one of two new assistant professors joining the School of Statistics this fall. Please help us to welcome him.

Dr. Li earned his PhD in statistics from the University of Michigan in 2018. After completing his degree, he assumed the position of an assistant professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of Virginia, where he worked until recently. Prior to this, Dr. Li served as an applied researcher at Microsoft Bing Search. His research interests primarily focus on the statistical modeling of complex networks and high-dimensional statistical learning.

When not working, Dr. Li enjoys spending quality time with his family and engaging in fun activities such as hiking, and playing tennis and video games with his two kids. He is thrilled to be a part of the esteemed and dynamic research community at the University of Minnesota, and is eagerly looking forward to joining his new colleagues at the School of Statistics.
