History

I study the intellectual history and political thought of modern South Asia. My ongoing research investigates intellectual trajectories of the modern 'Hindu political' beyond either Hindu nationalism or traditionalism. Besides this dissertation focus, I am interested in studying twentieth-century experiments in 'post-national' thinking from a South Asian perspective, especially as these emerged from anti-majoritarian, anti-caste, and nonviolent movements.
