Welcome to New Faculty Member Emily Ruth Capper

The Department of Art History is excited to welcome Assistant Professor, Dr. Emily Ruth Capper, as the newest member of our faculty. A specialist in the art and intellectual history of postwar modern and contemporary art, Dr. Capper will be teaching and advising in our department, while also joining the curatorial team at the Weisman Art Museum. Dr. Capper is currently working on her first book, Happening Pedagogy: Allan Kaprow’s Experiments in Instruction (University of Chicago Press). She will teach Why Art Matters in the spring.
